Parent Child Classes
Parent & Child Classes at the Madison Waldorf School offer a gentle and nurturing environment for toddlers accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
The morning begins with creative play. The children might create houses with dyed silks draped over play stands. Around these structures, they may use items gathered from nature, crowns or woven ropes as tools to their imagination. Others may choose to play with the hand made dolls or in the kitchen. Children may choose to include their parents, but if not, the parents may work on simple crafts or baking for our communal snack.
The group then gathers for our Circle Time, which focuses on seasonal songs, poems nursery rhymes and finger plays. Once we have set up for our snack, share our home brought treats with one another and exchange our thoughts on a variety of parenting issues. Tea, crackers and cheese and a fruit are provided. The morning ends with unstructured outdoor play. Each week the same flow of activities takes place so that even the youngest children experience the morning routine and begin to participate as part of the larger group.
Sessions are from 9:00 until 11:00 for approximately 16 weeks. We now have five days to choose from, please download the form below for tuition costs.
