Madison Waldorf School’s After School Program is based on the same nurturing, pedagogical impulses that guide the child’s day at school. Our goal is to give children an opportunity to be received with warmth and loving guidance after a full day of school activities. The child’s experience should be of one, harmonious day. The intent is not to structure this time with a whirlwind of activities, but rather to provide a secure daily rhythm within which the child is free to explore options.

After Care begins with a healthy snack followed with plenty of time outside building forts, playing, and exploring. Inside time includes teacher-led seasonal activities as well as crafts, knitting, board games and free time with our beautifully basic natural toys.

One section of our After School Program is for children age 2.5 years – 6, and the other section is for children age 7 – 13. After School Program Counselors are supervised by the After School Program Director.
