Who we are

Since 2007, Madison Waldorf School has existed to provide children and their families a more human-centered alternative to public and private schools in Madison.

Throughout our past, present, and future, our mission has been to nurture students to have intellectual creativity, emotional resilience, and purposeful engagement in their communities while giving them the tools to thrive in an ever-changing world. We are committed to fostering a community that values diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and we recognize the ongoing journey toward social justice. Our Educational Philosophy

Nurturing the whole child

At Madison Waldorf School, education is an art—a process of awakening what lies within each child. Our approach respects each stage of child development:

Early Childhood

A world of play, imagination, and exploration

Elementary

Hands-on, experience-based learning that engages the senses and nurtures curiosity

Middle School

A focus on critical thinking, responsibility, and self-expression, empowering students to question and understand the world around them

We believe in cultivating children’s intellectual creativity, emotional resilience, and purposeful engagement in their communities, giving them the tools to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our community

At Madison Waldorf School, we foster a welcoming, inclusive community that values diversity and encourages collaboration between families, teachers, and staff. We celebrate cultural differences and believe in building meaningful connections with each other and with the world.

Looking forward

As we continue to grow, Madison Waldorf School remains committed to providing an education that nurtures curiosity, wonder, and a deep love for learning. Our vision is to inspire future generations of confident, compassionate, and capable individuals who are eager to contribute to their communities and the world.
